Parcel Tracking

Track Your GermanBuy Shipment

At GermanBuy, we understand how important it is to know where your order is while it is traveling from Germany to you.

Where the selected shipping service provides tracking, your shipment will receive a tracking number that allows you to follow its progress during transportation.

Your tracking number will normally be provided after your order has been shipped.

If you have a GermanBuy customer account, your tracking information may be available in your account.

Customers who checked out as guests will receive the tracking information by email after shipment.

Where Can I Find My Tracking Number?

Your tracking number may be provided in:

  • your shipping confirmation email
  • your GermanBuy customer account, where available
  • other shipment-related communication from GermanBuy

Please keep your tracking number until your order has been successfully delivered.

If you cannot find your tracking number, please contact us at:

salemanager@germanbuy.net

Please include your order number so that we can assist you.

How Does Shipment Tracking Work?

International shipment tracking records important events during the transportation of your order.

A typical international shipment may go through several stages.

1. Order Processing

After your payment has been received, we prepare your order for shipment.

The products are packed securely and the shipment is prepared for handover to the selected carrier.

The normal order handling time is generally up to 2 business days after cleared payment has been received, although additional processing time may occasionally be required.

2. Shipment Handover

After the shipment has been prepared, it is handed over to the selected carrier.

The first tracking event may appear when the shipment is accepted or processed by the carrier.

Depending on the shipping service, the first scan may occur at the origin facility, a sorting center or another processing location.

3. Transportation Through the International Network

During international transportation, your shipment may pass through several sorting centers, transportation facilities, airports, customs facilities and other processing locations.

Tracking events are generated when the shipment is scanned at participating facilities.

The number and frequency of tracking events can vary depending on the carrier, shipping service and destination.

4. Periods Without Tracking Updates

It is completely normal for an international shipment to have periods where no new tracking event is displayed.

A shipment may be moving between facilities, traveling internationally, waiting for processing or undergoing customs procedures without generating a new tracking event.

A lack of tracking updates for several days does not automatically mean that your shipment is lost.

Tracking information may also be updated later than the actual physical movement of the shipment.

For DHL shipments, for example, tracking events may take 24–48 hours to appear after the tracking ID has been received.

5. Arrival in the Destination Country

After your shipment reaches the destination country, it may be processed by customs and/or transferred into the local postal or delivery network.

Depending on the shipping service and destination, additional tracking events may then appear through the local delivery provider.

The available tracking information depends on the carrier and the services used for the individual shipment.

Where Can I Track My Shipment?

For shipments handled by Deutsche Post / DHL, you can use the official tracking services:

DHL Tracking

Enter your tracking number to view the available shipment status and tracking events. DHL explains that the tracking number or tracking ID uniquely identifies the shipment and is normally provided by the sender or online shop.

Deutsche Post Shipment Tracking

Deutsche Post also provides shipment tracking for eligible letters and parcels.

Tracking After Arrival in Your Country

Once an international shipment reaches the destination country, additional tracking information may become available through the local postal or delivery service.

Depending on the destination and shipping service, the shipment may be handed over to the national postal operator or another local delivery provider.

The local carrier may provide additional information about:

  • arrival in the destination country
  • customs processing
  • local sorting
  • delivery attempts
  • collection from a local facility
  • estimated delivery
  • final delivery

The exact tracking information available depends on the destination country and the shipping service used.

Local Postal Tracking

If your shipment has arrived in your country but the international tracking information has not been updated recently, you may also try entering the same tracking number on the website of your local postal service.

Many international postal shipments use standardized tracking numbers that can continue to be recognized after the shipment enters the destination country’s postal network.

However, this is not guaranteed for every shipping service or destination.

Universal Postal Union Tracking

For eligible international postal shipments, you may also try the Universal Postal Union’s Global Track & Trace service.

Universal Postal Union – Global Track & Trace

The Universal Postal Union operates international postal standards and track-and-trace systems are used to exchange shipment events between participating postal operators.

Availability and the amount of tracking information can vary depending on the postal operators involved.

Other Carriers

If your order is shipped using a carrier other than Deutsche Post / DHL, tracking will normally be available through the website of the carrier handling your shipment.

Examples include:

  • USPS
  • UPS
  • DPD
  • FedEx
  • other international or local carriers

The applicable tracking information will depend on the carrier and shipping service selected for your order.

If your shipping confirmation identifies a particular carrier, please use that carrier’s official tracking system where available.

Why Has My Tracking Not Updated?

There are several reasons why tracking information may not change for a period of time.

For example:

  • the shipment is between two processing facilities
  • the shipment is in international transit
  • the shipment is waiting for customs processing
  • the shipment has not yet received its next scan
  • tracking information has not yet been transmitted between postal operators
  • the destination country’s postal service has not yet scanned the shipment
  • the carrier is experiencing a temporary delay
  • weekends or public holidays affect processing
  • weather or transportation disruptions affect the route

Please do not assume that a shipment is lost simply because the tracking information has not changed for several days.

International shipments can sometimes remain without a new tracking event for an extended period before the next scan appears.

Tracking Information Is Provided by the Carrier

Tracking information displayed on carrier websites is provided by the respective carrier or postal operator.

GermanBuy does not control the carrier’s tracking system.

We therefore cannot guarantee:

  • how frequently a shipment is scanned
  • how quickly tracking events are displayed
  • that every transportation stage will appear
  • that the estimated delivery date shown by a carrier will be accurate
  • that tracking information will be available continuously

Carrier tracking information may change as the shipment progresses.

Estimated Delivery Dates Shown in Tracking

Some carriers may display an estimated delivery date.

Please remember that such dates are carrier estimates and may change during transportation.

The estimated transit times published on our Shipping Information page are also approximate and are not guaranteed delivery times.

International shipments may take longer because of customs, transportation conditions, weather, local delivery circumstances or other factors.

Customs and Tracking

A shipment may stop showing movement while it is undergoing customs processing.

Customs authorities may inspect shipments, request additional information or documentation, or otherwise delay release.

GermanBuy does not control customs processing or the time required by customs authorities.

If customs contacts you, please respond promptly to any request for information or documentation.

Additional customs duties, taxes or other destination-country charges may also apply.

For more information, please see our Shipping Information page.

When Should I Contact GermanBuy?

Please contact us if:

  • you have not received your tracking number
  • your tracking number appears to be invalid
  • your shipment appears to have been returned
  • the carrier indicates a delivery problem
  • the shipment appears to be lost
  • the shipment was delivered but you did not receive it
  • you have another problem that cannot be resolved through the carrier’s tracking system

Email:

salemanager@germanbuy.net

Please include:

  • your order number
  • your tracking number, if available
  • your full name
  • a description of the problem

This will help us investigate the shipment more efficiently.

International Shipping Takes Time

GermanBuy ships products internationally from Germany.

Your order may therefore travel a considerable distance before reaching you and may pass through multiple transportation, sorting, customs and delivery facilities.

Please keep this in mind when checking your tracking information.

A shipment may move through several countries or facilities without producing a new tracking event at every stage.

International tracking is designed to provide visibility into the shipment’s journey, but it does not provide a continuous real-time location signal.

Important Tracking Notice

Tracking information is provided to help customers follow the progress of their shipment.

It does not constitute a guarantee of delivery by a particular date.

Tracking events may be delayed, incomplete or temporarily unavailable.

The absence of a tracking event does not automatically mean that a shipment is lost.

If there is a significant problem with your shipment, please contact GermanBuy and we will assist you where possible.
